Reader’s Question:

I already have medical/health insurance in San Antonio. And I don’t want to pay double coverages. As much as possible, I want to save on my monthly premium rate by excluding coverages I won’t need in the future. Is it necessary for me to add coverage for health if I encounter auto accident in time that I would be needing one?

When deciding for a car insurance, It’s all about knowing how much you are able and willing to pay out from your own pocket. So you need to make sure you have the coverage you would need to make sure your expenses are well taken cared of.

In your case, check with your insurance agent your total coverage covered in your insurance policy in San Antonio. It is important to be sure than to assume for what your paying to avoid risks for higher expenses. See if your health insurance or homeowners insurance, (if you have one), cover damages brought about by car accident. Also, if you have comprehensive health coverage, you wouldn’t be needing more than the minimum for PIP (Personal Injury Protection), which could depend too on what your state requires. Reader’s Question.

Does uninsured driver insurance policy cover property damage that is not for a car? I mean an uninsured person damages in my yard and wrecked my property.

Sam

San Antonio, TX

There are some states that offer uninsured driver coverage for property damage. You will need to check with your TX insurance policy to verify if you have that coverage. Otherwise, normal uninsured driver coverage is extra medical coverage only. This latter insurance coverage will not cover your wrecked property. If you do not have the uninsured motorist coverage for your property, you may want to seek legal advice against the uninsured motorist who damaged your property.
